How an invented season decides who goes through

Stage 5 · Play-off

A second route up

In the invented Sunset League the champions and runners-up are promoted directly. The teams from 3rd to 6th play a knockout play-off for one more place: 3rd plays 6th and 4th plays 5th, single matches, using the knockout rules from stage 3.

Who played whom

  1. Positions come from the league table under rule order A: 3rd Amber FC, 4th Ivory FC, 5th Onyx FC, 6th Jade FC.
  2. Pairing the highest remaining team with the lowest gives the better-placed teams the easier-looking opponents on paper.
  3. Under rule order B, 2nd and 3rd would swap, so Crimson FC rather than Amber FC would have been in the play-off. One tie-breaker changes who gets promoted directly.

Who goes up

Amber FC won the final 1–1 aet, 5–3 pens against Onyx FC and take the third promotion place, after Cobalt FC and Crimson FC.
